Jayme’s career journey is a testament to her dedication and growth. She started as a Registered Nurse and spent six years on the post-surgical floor at Stormont Vail. After earning her Master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati, she transitioned to her first APRN role at Midland Care. Jayme’s journey from bedside care to advanced practice reflects her driven, compassionate, and friendly nature.

“PACE is such a rewarding job where you can take care of individuals who meet the criteria to be in a nursing facility; however, you get to be part of their journey staying in their own home,” Jayme shares. She finds immense joy in collaborating with her team to ensure participants receive the best care and cherishes the opportunity to form meaningful connections with each individual she serves.

Lea Chaffee, Director of PACE, highlights Jayme’s impact: “Jayme is committed to providing exceptional medical care to PACE participants. She goes out of her way to ensure participants are included in their care decisions. Jayme has been a model for other PACE providers, and we are so grateful she chooses to spend her time and talents serving in the PACE program.”

Rooted in Kansas and driven by family, Jayme originally moved to Topeka from Abilene, Kansas, to pursue her education. Outside work, she enjoys reading, gardening, and cheering on her favorite sports teams—the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, K-State, Sporting KC, and the Tottenham Hotspurs. These shared interests make Jayme a relatable and familiar figure in our community. But her greatest joy comes from her family. Whether watching her two boys play sports or embarking on outdoor adventures with her husband and their dog, Jasper, Jayme’s family remains her most significant source of happiness and inspiration.

Colleagues describe Jayme as calm, intelligent, easygoing, and a natural leader. Her leadership qualities are evident in her work, and have a positive influence on the team. She embodies the qualities that make Midland Care a trusted resource for our community. Her dedication and expertise enrich participants’ lives and set a standard of excellence for the entire team. We are proud to spotlight Jayme Mejia, a shining example of the passion and compassion that define Midland Care. Thank you, Jayme, for all that you do!
