Sumptuous Evening

We have conducted our Sumptuous Evenings Gala each year in the late fall to benefit Meals on Wheels.  This event was halted during COVID 19. We were hoping to host this event in 2022. However, the nature of this event is heavily dependent on donations from local restaurants for food and staff time.  With the current nature of our economy, we are not able to hold this event in 2022. We are optimistic that we will be able to gather again in October 2023. 

We still need your help. Each day volunteers deliver a hot, nutritious meal to a homebound older adult in Douglas, Jefferson, and Shawnee counties. For some of these individuals, the interaction they have with the volunteer is the only contact they have with someone. Volunteers deliver the meal and provide a safety and wellness check each day. The cost to deliver meals to one route of 10 homes is over $20,000 per year. We rely on the funds raised through the Sumptuous Evening Gala to meet this need each year. 

Would you still be willing to contribute to Meals on Wheels? The cost to deliver food to one route for one day is $78.00. This would be the cost of an individual ticket to the Sumptuous Evening event.
