At Midland Care, our team is driven by a shared mission to serve and uplift our community. This month, we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on Greg Herin, our Assistant Transportation Director-West. His practical mindset and unwavering commitment to helping others not only make him a vital part of our organization but also a source of inspiration for us all.
Born in St. Louis and raised in Topeka, Greg brings local roots and experience to his role. Before joining Midland Care, he worked as a driver, built buses at El Dorado National, and handled commercial logistics at Exide Technologies. His education at Allen County Community College and Salina Area Technical College gave him the technical foundation to excel in his current position.
As Assistant Transportation Coordinator, Greg oversees the day-to-day operations of our transportation services, managing the fleet and solving logistical challenges. He likens his role to “Air Traffic Control,” ensuring clients, often among our community’s most vulnerable, reach their destinations safely and on time.
Midland Care Director of Transportation Robert Mooney says, “Greg’s extensive experience in the Transportation industry has paid dividends for the Transportation team over the years. Additionally, Greg’s dedication and commitment to the Midland PACE mean he is constantly advocating for drivers and participants! Greg has a unique skill of dissecting a situation and finding a workable solution.
Greg finds deep fulfillment in Midland Care’s mission of serving those in need. He values the opportunity to work with a great team and make a tangible difference in people’s lives. According to Greg, the most significant benefits of working at Midland Care are the opportunities for learning and advancement while doing meaningful community work.
Beyond work, Greg is an outdoors enthusiast. He enjoys motorcycle riding, fishing, and anything that gets him outside. Family, friends, and pets bring him the most joy in life. Describing himself as practical and down-to-earth, Greg hopes others see him as honest and fair—qualities that shine through in his work and interactions.
While not a hardcore sports fan, Greg cheers for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, embracing his Kansas pride.
Greg’s diverse background and commitment to Midland Care’s mission make him a standout team member. His ability to manage complex operations with a calm and fair approach ensures that our transportation services run smoothly, supporting our clients and community daily.
Thank you, Greg, for your dedication and for keeping Midland Care moving forward with compassion and reliability!
