Meet Karla Wessling, a Registered Dietitian for Midland Care’s PACE program, who combines her passion for nutrition with her dedication to serving older adults. With a strong educational background and diverse experience, Karla is committed to helping participants achieve their nutritional goals and improve their quality of life.
Karla Wessling, Registered Dietitian for Midland Care’s PACE program, is a professional with a diverse background and a strong educational foundation. Her passion for nutrition and love for serving older adults are evident in her extensive experience and caring heart. Karla’s role is vital in helping participants meet their nutritional goals, ensuring they enjoy a healthy, happy life. “There is so much to learn about life from the elderly, and it brings me joy if I can put a smile on their face,” Karla shares. Her journey to Midland Care has been shaped by her diverse background and strong educational foundation.
Before joining Midland Care, Karla honed her skills as a dietary manager in an assisted living facility and later as a clinical dietitian at Cotton O’Neil Cancer Center. She completed her undergraduate degree at Kansas State University and earned a Master’s from the University of Kansas. Now at Midland Care, Karla is thriving in her role, which allows her to connect closely with participants across various settings. “I enjoy the flexibility of this position. I’m never in the same place from day to day—I’m where participants need me, whether it’s in their home or at the PACE center.”

Karla is a very hard worker and is always willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. A good person and an amazing representative of Midland Care, we are so very glad she is a part of our team!”
Outside of work, Karla’s life is filled with joy and positivity. She resides in Baldwin City, embracing small-town living and enjoying life on her hobby farm. Karla is deeply involved in her Catholic parish, where she volunteers as the Children’s Religious Education Director. Her family, which includes her husband, two sons, and two granddaughters, is the source of her greatest joy. “I’ve always tried to look at the positive side of everything, even when things aren’t going well. I like to have fun, laugh, and just be happy,” she reflects.
Karla’s role at Midland Care PACE allows her to be part of a dedicated team that shares her commitment to providing the best possible care. “It’s wonderful to work with a team focused on bringing the best care to others. We all have the same goal,” she notes. For Karla, being a source of positivity and care in older adults’ lives is her mission and joy, making her an invaluable asset to the Midland Care family.
